
PATIALA, Aug 22: Deputy Commissioner-cum-returning officer of Patiala Lok Sabha Seat, Jasbir Singh Bir today said all arrangements have been completed to conduct the September 5 LS elections in this constituency.
In a statement here today, he said after the withdrawal of nominations only 11 candidates were left in the fray and symbols have been allotted to candidates. The Deputy Commissioner said three observers have been appointed to supervise the election process in this constituency. Whereas Arun Kumar, has been appointed to look into the poll expenditure of candidates and on the other N.K. Sinha and P.M. Kurashi have been appointed as general observers.
He said the candidates have been told about the rules and regulations and every candidate was told to obey them.
He said no candidate was allowed to use more than three vehicles during the campaigning and if any unregistered vehicle was caught during campaigning, the vehicle would be impounded.
