The Left parties hold Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 8220;high esteem8221; despite persisting differences on Indo-US civil nuclear deal and other issues, said the CPI on Wednesday.

8220;There are differences on the nuclear deal and these continue to remain,8221; said CPI National Secretary D Raja.

But 8220;there was never any disrespect or disregard8221; towards the Prime Minister and 8220;we always hold him in high respect and high esteem,8221; he said.

His statement echoed the remarks made by CPIM General Secretary Prakash Karat, who hailed Singh for his 8220;unquestioned integrity8221;.

Noting that the controversial nuclear deal issue was being discussed by the UPA-Left committee, Raja said, 8220;Let us wait how we are going to sort out these problems and arrive at some findings.8221;

He said the dialogue process is going on and 8220;we have to wait for some time.8221;

Pointing out that the Left has had differences with the government on several issues including economic policies, he said, 8220;We take up these issues at the appropriate forum and even don8217;t hesitate to protest8221; demanding course correction.
