Advani refutes Jaya8217;s charge

HYDERABAD, SEPT 17: Union Home Minister L K Advani today refuted AIADMK Supremo Jayalalita8217;s allegation that he had backtracked on the assurance to take action against the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu following the Coimbatore bomb blasts.

8220;At no point of time did I ever promise action against the Karunanidhi Government. Our government will always do what is constitutionally correct and politically legitimate,8221; Advani told reporters here.

Jayalalitha had, on Tuesday, accused Advani of 8220;eating his own words8221; on taking action against the DMK Government. She made the attack while addressing a public meeting at Tiruchirapalli to mark the 90th birth anniversary of the late Chief Minister C N Annadurai.
