Academic Council results declared

NEW DELHI, December 24: The results of the elections to the 26-member academic council of Delhi University DU were declared today. Thirty-six candidates had participated in the elections. Nandita Narain of the Democratic Teachers Front DTF and V.K. Aggarwal of Academics for Action and Development AAD were elected to the Executive Council EC of DU on Wednesday.

Amongst the academic council winners from the Indian National Teachers Congress INTEC are Cynthia Masy, O.P. Sharma and Vijaylaxmi Chowdhury. The winners from National Democratic Teachers Front NDTF are S.S. Rana, Manoj Sinha, P.K Avinashi, P.C. Tandon, D.D. Vashisht and K.B. Gupta. AAD candidates Aditya Narain Mishra, B.K. Sethi, V.P. Singh, Rekha Dayal and P.K. Srivastav have made it to the council. Democratic Teachers Front DTF candidates are Bhagpati Sharma, Neeta Kumar, Romesh Chandra and S.C. Sarkar.

Prem Singh and Ranjana Saxena have been elected from the ultra-Left. Independent candidates Jaspal Singh and Rajesh Mohan have also been elected.
