PUNE, MARCH 22: In an unique event held on Sunday, 120 handicapped individuals took part in the annual swimming meet orgainsed by the Lions Club of Pune, Sahakarnagar at the Nande Swimming pool, Jangli Maharaj road. The meet in its sixth year, saw participants from the Pune Blind Mens Association, Blind Girls School, Kothrud, `Dilasa’ School for the mentally handicapped, Paraplegic Home, Khadki, the Queens Mary Technical Institute, `Aadhar’ deaf and dumb institute and the Ruia deaf and dumb school, Pune take part.

Results: (U/16): Deaf & Dumb:(Girls): 25 mtrs free style: Deepali Chaudhari, Sharda Witekar, Jyoti Nande.

(Boys): 50 mtrs free style: Laxman Salunkhe, Vishal Waghmare, Vijay Chavan.(Men): 50 mtrs free style: Sagar Bedekar, Sudhir Thorat, Sandeep Waghmare.(U/16): Blind: (Boys): 25 mtrs free style: Dasaram Rane, Santosh Kachre, Abhay Nalge.

(Girls): 25 mtrs free style: Sandhya Murkute, Rajni Nikam.(Open category): 25 mtrs free style: Hemant Lande, Subhash Gaikwad, Ramgir Bhosale.
