Sources say match referee Ranjan Madugalle has noted batsmen taking inordinately long to reach the crease.

In this Test, not once did the batsmen, the one out and the one coming in, cross on field, as is the general norm. Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson too has been seen to pointedly look at his watch when Indian batsmen have taken longer than usual to come out.

The batsmen of both teams, however, have blamed the long flight of stairs from the dressing room on the first floor and then a long ramp that they have to cross. Meanwhile, Pakistan bowled 15.1 overs short today and almost 40 overs have been lost so far due to slow-over rate and early close of play. The referee might dock match fees.
