CHANDIGARH, May 19: About 150 jhuggis adjacent to the Indira Colony in Manimajra were demolished in an operation by Enforcement Staff and the Municipal Corporation, here today.Not long ago the place was razed clean of all jhuggis in a major operation and the area was fenced. The officials said that all the new jhuggis, which have sprouted over the past few days, have been removed. A large posse was deployed to see that the law and order was maintained.The three-hour long operation, that commenced at 10.30 am, was supervised by tehsildars D.S. Baloria and K.S. Gill who were accompanied by the Blue Brigade.
