
MUMBAI, August 20: Eleven murder cases, along with the arrest of seven members of an inter-state gang from Vikhroli Parksite, have been solved by the North East police within six months.
8220;The gang would hire private taxis to places like Nashik and Sirdi, and kill the drivers enroute and sell the vehicles,8221; said Additional Commissioner of Police, Dr Satya Pal Singh. Police records show that the gang was involved in 11 murder cases: one at Nashik, two in South Mumbai, one at Vikhroli, another at Malvani and five in Thane district. The gang had stolen 10 vehicles. The ring leader has been identified as Lenzy D8217;Souza from Karnataka. The others are Sadruddin Khan, Sudhir Manwar, Shivan Shinde, Ajay Yadav and Sanjay Khairnar.
The police have recovered one stolen car, while one member of the gang is still absconding.
