NAWADA, OCT 19: Eleven persons were taken into custody in connection with Wednesday’s killing of four Backward Class people and abduction of four others by Akhilesh Singh gang in Bihar’s Nawada district, a senior police official said today.

Massive raids are on and borders of Nalanda and Nawada districts have been sealed since last night as those missing remained traceless, he said.

Inspector General of Police (Security) Neelmani, Nawada SP J.S. Gangwar are overseeing the combing operations, he said. Those killed were identified as Gopi Mahato (60), Satyendra Prasad (30), Bablu Kumar (22) and Munna Mahato (28), he said.

Akhilesh Singh Gang, considered a terror in the two adjoining districts of Nawada And nalanda, had on October 14, gunned down five Backward Class persons at Bhojpur village in Nalanda district.

Akhilesh Singh has been named accused in both the cases, the official added.
