Shraddha Kapoor has glowing skin. And, in an interview, the Stree 2 actor shared the secret: “I really want to drink more water. Water is one of the basic things that hydrates your skin. I try to have more water. I also feel that when I sleep well, I wake up fresh and look fresh. So, sleep is also very important.”
According to Kapoor, the most “important thing” is to be happy in life. “Usse bada skincare life mein hai nahi. (There is no skincare better than that),” Kapoor told Lallantop.
Staying hydrated is crucial, said Dr Manjusha Agarwal, senior consultant, internal medicine, Gleneagles Hospitals Parel Mumbai, adding one should also replenish essential electrolytes lost through sweat. “rink plenty of water to stay hydrated, which can also help control appetite and aid fat loss,” she added.
Dr Shareefa Chause, dermatologist, Dr Shareefa Skin Care Clinic, Mumbai, concurred and said that the key to glowing skin is to stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and be happy. “These three factors work together to keep your skin and body healthy,” said Dr Chause.
Drinking enough water can significantly help flush out harmful toxins from your body while keeping your skin cells hydrated. This little tweak can make your skin look fresh.
Understand that sleep has a significant impact on the way your skin looks. “This is because your body tends to repair itself while sleeping. It also includes your skin cells, which get enough time during the nighttime to heal properly. Having a poor sleep schedule can lead to dark circles, eye bags, dullness, and breakouts,” said Dr Chause.
Aim for at least 7 to 8 hours of sound sleep.

Happiness is also key to enhancing your skin “as stress can affect its appearance.”
“Increased levels of stress and stress hormones can cause acne, wrinkles, skin sagging, and dryness. When you are happy, your body releases feel-good hormones to help improve the blood flow to the skin. This can further make your skin fresh and naturally glowing,” said Dr Chause.
Adopting these simple habits in your daily lifestyle can help make your skin youthful and soft.
