Sumit Sharma, certified yoga instructor and founder of StrongByYoga.com, weighs in.

“As a yoga teacher, I am often asked what is the best time to practice yoga? I personally like to practice yoga early in the morning as it helps me start my day right. It sets a positive tone for the day and prepares my mind and body to overcome any challenge the day has to offer,” he said.

Practicing yoga any time of the day brings you numerous benefits such as improved mobility, flexibility, stamina, sleep quality, heart health, immunity etc. However, practicing yoga in the morning has some added advantages because of the calmness, clarity of thoughts and fresh air early morning brings along with it, added Sharma.

“Morning time is also considered the best time to practice yoga by many yoga practitioners because the human mind is far more active and receptive in the morning time compared to other hours of the day. Morning yoga can instantly make you feel calmer and more at peace with yourself. I personally recommend practicing yoga in the morning but it is also not necessary. Any time is a good time to practice. Do not let the time constraint stop you from doing yoga.” he said.

4. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog)
5. Pavanmuktasana (Wind-Relieving pose)
6. Setubhandha Asana (Bridge Pose)
7. Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand pose)
8. Natarajasana (Dancer Pose)
According to Harvard Health Publishing, there are various benefits to practicing yoga. Yoga helps with better sleep, which helps heart health, and aids the avoidance of depression and obesity. Yoga also encourages slow, deep breathing, which helps lower blood pressure and heart rate.
