Fans were left disappointed when Bollywood megastars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar failed to share the stage during the grand finale of Bigg Boss 18. While viewers anticipated a star-studded interaction, scheduling conflicts and delays led to Akshay’s early departure, leaving many frustrated.
Sources had earlier revealed to The Indian Express that Akshay Kumar, known for his punctuality, arrived at the Bigg Boss 18 set at the scheduled time of 2:15 PM to shoot a segment alongside Salman Khan. However, after waiting over an hour and facing other pressing commitments, Akshay decided to leave. Salman reportedly arrived on set at 6:30 PM.
In a statement during the episode, Salman acknowledged the incident, saying, “Akki [Akshay Kumar] is also in the film. I got a little late, and he had to leave for another function, so he left.”
Despite the mishap, the two actors reportedly spoke on the phone and reached a mutual understanding, agreeing to appear together on the show later.
This situation can spark conversations about professionalism and time management. According to Arouba Kabir, emotional and mental health professional and founder of Enso Wellness, “In such situations, people often focus on the person who left, rather than addressing the root issue—the person who arrived late. It reflects a lack of respect not only for others’ time but also for their own.”
Kabir emphasises the importance of setting boundaries: “The person who leaves needs to respond calmly and firmly, without creating unnecessary conflict. Setting boundaries isn’t about drama—it’s about self-respect in action.”
Professionalism is not just about showing up but about how one handles such circumstances. While Akshay Kumar chose to leave respectfully, the incident highlights the need for punctuality and mutual respect in collaborative settings.
Though fans missed the opportunity to see Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar together, their mutual understanding leaves hope for a future joint appearance.
