Melania Trump’s video posts are part of the promotion for her upcoming book, Melania, which promises behind-the-scenes stories from her time in the White House, advocacy work, and previously unseen images. (File Photo)Melania Trump has opened up about the four qualities that first drew her to her husband, Donald Trump, the billionaire property mogul turned former US President, who is now running as a Republican candidate in the 2024 election.
In a recent video shared on social media to promote her upcoming memoir Melania, the former First Lady and model reflects on their first encounter in New York City back in 1998.
“From the moment Donald and I met, there was an undeniable spark,” she recalls.
“There was something magnetic about him: his confidence, his charm, his humour, his vision.”
Dressed in a houndstooth jacket and cast in a noir-like light, Melania goes on to describe their star-studded wedding in January 2005.
“Our wedding was a beautiful affair – a breathtaking gown, a perfectly curated menu by a renowned chef, and captivating live performances by musical legends,” she says.
A montage of photographs from the ceremony, which took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, plays during the video.
Among the notable guests in attendance were celebrities and public figures like Don King, Barbara Walters, Apprentice producer Mark Burnett, Tony Bennett, Billy Joel, Paul Anka, Simon Cowell, and Rudy Giuliani, according to The Palm Beach Post.
This short clip is the latest in a series of videos Melania has shared to promote her forthcoming memoir, which is set to be released on Tuesday.
Wearing a classic outfit, the former first lady appears in the video promoting her new memoir on 7 October 2024.
Although she has remained largely absent from her husband’s latest presidential campaign, only appearing briefly at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July, Melania has stepped back into the spotlight in recent weeks to promote her book. Her media appearances have included an interview with Fox’s Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.
In the book, advance copies of which were obtained by The Guardian and The Daily Beast, Melania Trump discusses her views on women’s rights and access to abortion, recounts an unauthorised visit to the White House Situation Room, and defends her nude modelling career.
“I have always believed it is critical for people to take care of themselves first,” she writes, addressing the subject of abortion in a stance that appears to diverge from her husband’s.
“It’s a very straightforward concept; in fact, we are all born with a set of fundamental rights, including the right to enjoy our lives. We are all entitled to maintain a gratifying and dignified existence. This common-sense approach applies to a woman’s natural right to make decisions about her own body and health.”
In other videos shared on social media, she has criticised the FBI’s 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago in search of classified documents, reflected on the birth of her son Barron Trump and his experiences with bullying, condemned alleged efforts to “silence” her husband, and hinted at a potential conspiracy behind an attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania.
