Kantara: Chapter 1 actor Rishab Shetty recently highlighted his wife’s ‘solid support’ in his life, especially throughout his filmmaking journey. “If it weren’t for my wife, Pragathi, I couldn’t have finished this film. She’s a big support. Whenever I left for a shoot, her prayers would begin. And for five years, the kids’ schooling…all of it; the kids were studying, she took all that responsibility…Like a solid support, like a source of strength. That’s been Pragathi’s contribution. So, now, even I feel I should take a pause…!” the 42-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter India.

Taking a cue from his candid admission, let’s examine how the support of a life partner can be beneficial.

In a world that celebrates visibility, his words carry the rare power of acknowledgement, stressed Delnna Rrajesh, psychotherapist and life coach.

“Rishab’s tribute shone a light on that sacred, often unspoken layer of marriage: the energy that sustains, nurtures, and silently holds everything together,” Delnna added.

The healthiest partnerships are not hierarchies but circles — spaces where both partners are equally sacred. “One creates through action, the other holds through vibration. The masculine manifests; the feminine sustains. But both are divine energies, not gender roles. When acknowledgement flows between them, love evolves into reverence. This is what mature love looks like. Not dependence, not domination, but mutual support,” continued Delnna.

So, if you are struggling to express, here are ways to bring back emotional reciprocity:

Name the invisible: Say it aloud. “I see what you hold for this family.” Naming the unseen breaks the spell of invisibility.

Return energy through presence: Offer care, not counterwork. “Sometimes sitting together quietly is more nourishing than helping with chores,” said Delnna.

Protect the anchor: Remind the partner who holds everyone else that they’re allowed to rest, cry, and receive. Strength needs space to soften.

Rebuild individual identity: Encourage them to rediscover their passions, friendships, and creative life. A fulfilled individual gives more sustainably than a depleted one.

Pray together: Shared spiritual grounding, i.e. even five minutes of silence, gratitude, or meditation, resets the vibration of the relationship.
