Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse get married in Hungary; a look at their relationship timeline

The couple initially met six years ago at an event, which led Sprouse to slide into her DMs. "I was like, 'Hey, I don't know if you're in New York for very long, but we should hang out if you want to. Here's my number.' And she didn't message me for six months," Sprouse told W Magazine

Supermodel Barbara Palvin and actor Dylan Sprouse tied the knot on July 15, in Palvin’s home country Hungary, on her parent’s property, Harlekin Birtok.

“(This past weekend) was supposed to be an intimate event,” Palvin told Vogue Weddings. “But we ended up having 115 guests, because there are a lot of people we care about, and we wanted them all to be there.”

As for the wardrobe for the wedding ceremony, Palvin opted for a custom strapless dress from the fashion house of Vivienne Westwood for her first look. For wedding-day jewellery, she chose Tiffany & Co., with the jeweller creating a ’90s-inspired choker for the bride that perfectly complemented her dress.

For Palvin’s second dress, she chose a shorter style with a crisscross back by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. “The dress made me feel like a modern princess,” she told the outlet.

To keep with a Hungarian tradition and “wear a red dress after midnight,” she sported Hungarian designer MERO to create her third look, which she called the “dress of my dreams.” The model paired all the looks with Jimmy Choo heels, designed to match the colours of her specific dresses.

On the other hand, Sprouse sported a traditional tuxedo for the ceremony. “And I made sure to shave,” he said jokingly.

As Sprouse was heading to China for a six-month shoot, Palvin finally messaged him back. The Hungarian model ultimately ended up flying to China to meet him for their first date, she said on PEOPLE Now.

The duo finally began dating in June 2018. They made their relationship Instagram official when Palvin posted a photo with Sprouse for his birthday in 2018. Later that year, Sprouse was seen supporting his girlfriend at the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Sprouse and Palvin took their relationship to the next level when they moved in together in Brooklyn, New York in January 2019.

Fast-forward several years after they first started dating, the couple ended up getting engaged in September last year, which they revealed last month during an interview with V Magazine–conducted by Sprouse’s twin brother, Cole Sprouse. They also shared that their wedding will take place in Hungary where Palvin was born and raised.

“I’m excited to show that side of me and introduce my culture, the places I grew up, and the places I went to. I feel like a lot of people will learn even more about me this way,” she said. “I know there was no way we would have not had a wedding in Hungary because my parents would have killed me.”

The pair told Vogue Weddings that they also plan to have a larger wedding in California in the fall.
