Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Friday that a record turnout of nearly 65% in the first phase of Bihar elections has left the Opposition anxious and underlined the “track record of Narendra and Nitish” of delivering on promises of infrastructural and development projects.

Predicting that the INDIA bloc would be politically uprooted from the state, the PM said, “The sisters and daughters of Bihar are watching…in their enthusiasm I can see Bihar’s bright future.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that during the “jungle raj” of the RJD regime, the state plunged into poverty for lack of industries and trade.

PM Modi, who addressed rallies in Aurangabad and Bhabua, said, “Modi and CM Nitish (Kumar) ji’s track record is for everyone to see. When I say I am going to do something, I do not rest before doing it… Modi had said Ram Mandir will be built. Was it or was it not built?… Did we not finish something that was pending for 500 years?”

“Modi had promised the nation that the wall of Article 370 will be brought down… Modi had promised from Bihar’s soil that perpetrators of Pahalgam terror attack will be punished. And then you saw Pakistan being destroyed during Operation Sindoor. Did I or did I not do what I had said?” he said

Targeting Congress, he said that November 7 marked 11 years of implementation of One Rank One Pension by the NDA government which was denied by the Congress-led Centre on “the basis of one lie or another”.

“Their politics rests on the foundation of lies… when we say 1 crore new jobs will be provided in Bihar, the youths believe us… The track record of Congress-RJD is also in front of you. If you want a job, do away with your family field in the name of a family… These jungle raj people are out on bail… the RJD-Congress people can never provide jobs to Bihar youth,” he said, alluding to the alleged land for jobs scam during the tenure of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad as Railway Minister.

The NDA has brought Bihar out of “jungle raj” and that’s why the people of the state trust its “Sankalp Patra” which has Bihar development at its core.

“…Only the NDA has given 50% representation to women at the panchayat level… 35% reservation in government jobs… reservation in Vidhan Sabhas and Lok Sabha… it is only the NDA which is providing opportunities for self-employment to them,” he said.

“We don’t just make announcements, but deliver. Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana benefit has reached each of Bihar’s 1.40 crore sisters… that’s why the sisters believe only the NDA will help them at each juncture in future,” he said.

In an apparent jibe at Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” charge, Modi said the Congress was “already busy finding excuses for impending defeat. They are carrying out a net practice of how to explain why they lost Bihar.” “It is now confirmed that the NDA will register its largest victory in this election. I urge you to be ready for a victory celebration after November 14,” he said.

Shah, who addressed rallies in Jamui and Bhagalpur, also exuded confidence that the Mahagathbandhan will face a rout and promised to deliver a ‘Viksit Bihar’ in next five years.

Taking on the RJD, Shah said, “During Lalu-Rabri rule, wedding processions arrived with kattas (country made pistols)… there used to be abductions for ransom and massacres. Over 20 massacres took place in Bihar. And this jungle raj had put locks on industries and finished trade, plunging the state into poverty. But Nitish babu has ended the jungle raj.”

“In the last 10 years, Modiji brought infrastructure like roads, bridges to each corner, established power manufacturing units, sugarcane and ethanol, fertiliser factories, and started Bihar’s development.”
