Reiterating PM Narendra Modi’ slogan of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas”, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday called upon misguided youth in Kashmir not to get misled by anybody as the doors of Central government for talks were open to all.

”We are ready to talk with anybody, ” he said while addressing a BJP works rally here to highlight the achievements of Narendra Modi government on the completion of one year in office. “We want the support of all – Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, so as to make India a strong and powerful nation,” he said.

Pointing out that in a democracy channels of communication shall always remain intact, Rajnath Singh, however, made it clear that the government will not tolerate any anti-national activity. In an apparent reference to raising of pro-Pakistan slogans and display of Pakistan flag in the Valley, he said that “anybody trying to harm nation’s pride and reputation will be given a befitting reply”.

He expressed confidence in the capabilities of country’s defence forces, paramilitary forces and the police to deal with any such situation. “We cannot raise any question on their integrity,” he said.

In support of his point, he even referred to incidents of continued ceasefire violation by Pakistan in October last and the befitting reply given by BSF. “Hit hard by BSF retaliation, Pakistan had to approach the UN seeking truce with India,” he pointed out.

Without naming Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani at whose rally in Trail Pakistani flags were displayed, Singh hoped that the state government will take action in the matter.

He also described the raising of pro-Pakistan slogans by some anti-nationals in the Valley as “unIslamic”. “No religion accepts one living on the soil of one nation raising slogans of another, ” he said.
