Chandigarh: The Haryana government gave additional charges to five IAS officers on Friday. P K Gupta has been given the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary,Industries and Commerce,Mines and Geology and Electronics and Information Technology Departments; K K Jalan the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary,Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Departments; S S Prasad the additional charge of Principal Secretary,Sports and Youth Affairs Department; Dhanpat Singh the additional charge of Principal Secretary,Agriculture Department; and Pankaj Yadav the charge of Director and Joint Secretary,Secondary Education Department.

Rahul is a rejected leader: Majithia

Amritsar: Calling Rahul Gandhi a “leader rejected by people”,Punjab Cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday said that wherever Rahul had campaigned,the Congress suffered defeats. Talking to mediapersons during his visit of Majitha constituency,Majithia said that poll statistics of UP,Bihar and Punjab clearly pointed out that wherever Rahul organised rallies,Congress lost badly. Majithia added that “intelligent” Congress leaders were ‘internally afraid’ of Rahul’s upcoming visit to Punjab ahead of Parliamentary polls.
