Here's how to order your Aadhaar PVC card online without a registered mobile number. Step-by-step guide using UIDAI’s official portal. (Credit: UIDAI)Aadhaar card, a 12-digit unique identity number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is a crucial identity and address document.
Previously, Aadhaar cards were printed on paper, which could be difficult to preserve in excellent shape even after lamination.
Keeping this in mind, UIDAI introduced PVC Aadhaar Cards, made of synthetic plastic and measuring 86 mm x 54 mm, which are sturdy and include security features such as holograms, guilloché patterns, and QR codes.
UIDAI announced in a recent X post that anyone can now receive their Aadhaar PVC Card online, even if they do not have an Aadhaar-registered phone number.
They can simply enter an alternate mobile number, verify using the OTP issued to that number, and have their card delivered to their Aadhaar-registered address.
