Parry murder: Two arrested for ‘providing’ weapons to assailants

The Panchkula police detective staff has arrested two persons who allegedly provided weapons, mobile phones, SIM cards and a vehicle to the absconding killers involved in the murder of Inderpreet, alias Parry, in Chandigarh.

The arrested accused have been identified as Shivam Sharma (23) and Gopal Kumar (21), both residents of Faridkot, Punjab. The police apprehended them from the Kharar area on December 14.

Speaking to the media, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan said that as per preliminary investigation, Shivam Sharma is already facing a drug trafficking case in Faridkot while Gopal Kumar has two criminal cases registered against him for brawling.

During interrogation, it also came to light that both accused, along with their associates Ankush and Piyush Piplani, were allegedly planning the murder of a youth, Ajay, in Faridkot. The duo were also found to be involved in heroin trafficking.

The DCP stated that initial questioning has revealed the accused were in contact with notorious criminal Hari Boxer. Investigations have also established that Shivam and Gopal had provided shelter in Pinjore to absconding accused Ankush and Piyush, who are wanted in the murder of Sonu Nolta. In this connection, a case has already been registered at Pinjore police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
