Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 Results: With exit polls indicating a hung assembly for 90 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, all eyes are now on the actual results, which will be announced tomorrow, October 8, along with Haryana.

Voters in Jammu and Kashmir cast ballots in three phases: on September 18, September 25, and October 1. This year’s three-phase elections resulted in an overall voter participation of 63.45%.

It is significant because it is the first following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, which divided the former state into the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Congress fought the election together, while the People’s Democratic Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party ran separately.

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election Results will be released tomorrow, i.e. October 8, 2024,  being observed on Tuesday, with the counting of votes will begin at 8 am, with the first results expected to start coming in by midday.

According to exit polls, the Congress-National Conference combination is likely to perform well in Jammu & Kashmir, with various studies estimating that the alliance will win between 35 and 40 seats, perhaps resulting in a hung legislature. The BJP is likely to win 20-25 seats, while the PDP is forecast to win 4-7 seats.
