Super Deluxe is Thiagarajan Kumararaja's second movie. It features a slew of powerhouse performers like Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Gayathrie, Ashwanth Ashokkumar, and Bagavathi Perumal. The genre-bending movie takes us through the hyper-woven tale of 4 separate subplots, which merge towards the end. Indianexpress.com critic S Subhakeerthana said Super Deluxe “is an intellectually stimulating experience".

Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski in the titular role, had premiered last year on Amazon Prime Video. It is based on Tom Clancy’s novels and is a good-old spy action series. The series, with both its seasons, particularly stands out because of its protagonist’s idealistic approach.Read our review of the second season here.

This quirky comedy revolves around a rave party where all the guests turn into zombies. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das and Anand Tiwari, the film was a hit among audiences for its hilarious portrayal of drug-addled zombies. Thanks to its success, the makers have announced a sequel, which is set to hit the screens on March 2021. 

Oh Kadhal Kanmani, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon, marked director Mani Ratnam’s return to the romance genre after almost a decade. The movie is a refreshing take on contemporary romance and relationships. Amazing performances, complete with AR Rahman’s wonderful music, OK Kanmani is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.

Let’s take a walk down the memory lane with this Hindi sitcom. Despite being the Indian version of the British show Mind Your Language, Zabaan Sambhalke managed to remarkably carve a space for itself. The series featured actors Pankaj Kapur, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote and Tom Alter.

Bangalore Days is the go-to film if you are in the mood to watch something comforting and feel-good. Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim and Nivin Pauly played the central characters as the adorable trio of cousins who navigate their new lives in Bangalore.

This British TV drama has some big names as the cast.  Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, David Harewood, Tom Hollander, and Elizabeth Debicki star in the adaptation of  1993 novel of the same name by John le Carré. The series was nominated for 36 awards and won 11, including three Golden Globes for Best Performance to Tom Hiddleston, Best Performance for an Actress in a Supporting Role to Olivia Colman, and Best Performance for a Supporting Actor for Hugh Laurie.

Euphoria is an American teen drama, which follows a group of high school students through their experiences of friendships, love, identity and trauma. Zendaya, who essays the role of Rue in the series, has received widespread acclaim for her performance. The series was recently renewed for a second season.

Marriage Story was one of the films to get nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards. Starring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johannsson and Laura Dern, the film is about a married couple who are going through a coast-to-coast divorce. Indian Express critic Shalini Langer rated the film 4.5 stars and called the movie “a deeply affecting drama”.

Directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja of Super Deluxe fame, Aaranya Kandam is said to be Tamil cinema’s first neo-noir action thriller. The film, which hit the screens in 2011, bombed at the box office at the time of its release. Despite that, the movie has since gone on to attain a cult status in Tamil & Indian cinema. 

Starring some big names like Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, Ed Sheeran etc, Modern Love is a romantic comedy anthology series, based on the weekly column published by The New York Times. The show attempts to show "love in its multitude of forms – including sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self love," which are presented in eight half-hour episodes. Starring ranveer Singh in the lead role, Gully Boy is the story of a struggling rapper Murad who is struggling socially as well as economically. Watch Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War on Amazon Prime Video. The Siddharth Anand directorial is an action entertainer that also stars Anupriya Goenka, Ashutosh Rana and Vaani Kapoor. The film was praised for its entertaining action sequences and well filmed stunts.

The sitcom led by Andy Samberg centers around the 99th precinct of the NYPD. The show also stars Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti. The six seasons of Brooklyn Nine Nine are available on Netflix.

Based on the book of the same name, Fifty Shades Freed is the third instalment in the Fifty Shades trilogy. The film stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and follows the couple as tehy get married to each other. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.

Fun, energetic and light on its feet -- just like its stars -- Malayalam movie Bangalore Days features a talented and starry cast, including the likes of Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Nazriya, Fahadh Faasil and Parvathy. The film is currently streaming on Hotstar. 

This Anubhav Sinha directorial takes a hard look at the prevalent caste system in India through the lens of a proper thriller. Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, there's an excellent supporting cast in place, which makes this film even more compelling. Read more about it here. 

This Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer is a winsome, wholesome film about family, death and moving on. Also, this is one of Deepika's finest works. Piku has been directed by Shoojit Sircar.

Hugh Jackman's last outing as Wolverine and the introduction of Dafne Keen's X-23, this comic book film has so many things going for it. It was also a huge box office hit and was critically acclaimed as well.  

This entertaing and realistic approach to life and cine stars remains one of the most beloved Hrishikesh Mukherjee creations even after all these years. It featured a young and energetic Jaya Bachchan as the lead and boasted of numerous special appearances by some of the leading names of showbiz at the time. 

This film (like a few others) comes under the category of watch-it-whenever. An apparently light-hearted film with a strong emotional core, Sleepless in Seattle is all things wonderful. It stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan and was helmed by Nora Ephron. 

This Rajinikanth starrer and Pa Ranjith directorial is about the good against the bad fight. Rajini is the Dharivi king who protects his people from local goons as well as property mafia. It is dramatic with hints of realism and is full of symbolism. Nana Patekar also stars. Read our review here. 

This multistarrer biographical series looks at the reign of Elizabeth II and introduces the relatively lesser-known figures of the royal palace. A slow but scrumptious affair. The show features the likes of Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Olivia Colman among others. It recently released its third season, which was also lauded. Read about it here. 

In the mood for a fun, light-hearted but well-made rom-com? Look no further than Netflix's Set it Up, which believe you us, is loads better than the stereotypical and predictable romantic comedies we are being offered of late. Also look out for the wonderful Lucy Liu. 

A poignant tale of brothers, this one not only boasts of incredible performances (especially by the dynamic Fahadh Faasil), but also of stunnning cinematography and camera work in general. Shane Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Grace Antony also star. It has been helmed by Madhu C Narayanan.

Tune into the weird and up-side down world of Eleven and her new friends. This Duffer Brothers show has absurdity, 80s references and science-fiction working for it at multiple levels. The first season of the show premiered on Netflix in July, 2016. The third season aired in 2019. While the first and third were received with open arms, the second season proved to be a snooze-fest.
