Did Park Seo Joon hint at Kim Soo Hyun’s scandal? YouTuber calls their friendship ‘weaker than paper’

However, YouTuber Kim Se Ui believes that Park Seo Joon might have subtly hinted at something controversial through his Instagram post. His suspicion grew after seeing a post on March 16 where Park shared a photo from Paris with the caption, “What did I do in Paris? Garo.” While it looks like a harmless post, the timing, paired with the ongoing Kim Soo Hyun controversy, raised few eyebrows. The Garo Sero Research Institute quickly connected the word “Garo” to their channel. “Last night, I checked Park Seo Joon’s Instagram. Isn’t it quite meaningful,” the YouTuber said, adding, “I even left a comment there. I support Park Seo Joon. Their friendship is truly weaker than a piece of paper.” 

Kim Se Ui also speculated that Park’s mention of “Paris” could be a hidden reference to the Queen of Tears star, who was once called “YouTuber Kim Paris.” The word “Garo” in Korean means “horizontal,” which also ties into the fact that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron exchanged love letters referring to “horizontal” and “vertical” in their private messages. The YouTuber even left a comment in the section saying, “YouTuber Kim Paris is being exposed by Garo Sero Research Institute. We will work even harder to clear actress Kim Sae Ron’s name. Park Seo Joon, fighting!”

As soon as the claims went viral, Seo Joon’s fans quickly came to his defence, labelling the allegations as “dumb” and “baseless”. They noted that Park had previously used terms like “vertical” in his captions, referencing photo orientations. They mentioned how his use of “Garo” (meaning horizontal) in the Paris Post was simply referring to the landscape format. Critics of the Garo Sero Research Institute accused the channel of creating false links to stir up more controversy, suggesting that the timing of Park’s post was purely coincidental.

Kim Soo Hyun releases new statement addressing Kim Sae Ron’s family

On March 18, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, issued a statement denying allegations made by the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The family had claimed that the agency demanded compensation for damages linked to Kim Sae Ron and had pressured her regarding debt repayment.

GM clarified that the second certification of contents, sent to Kim Sae Ron on March 25, 2024, was not a demand for repayment but a way to explain their position and reassure her about the debt. They also emphasised that no compensation was being sought from Kim Sae Ron for damages. The agency further explained that the relationship with Kim Sae Ron had ended after her contract expired in 2022, and any further communication should be through legal representatives.

The agency also denied accusations of defamation towards actress Seo Yea Ji and disputed HoverLab’s claims about a photo of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron. According to them, HoverLab has made sensational claims about Kim Soo Hyun’s private life, including a photo posted by a fan on social media. However, the person in the photo is not Kim Soo Hyun, as claimed. The photo has no connection to Kim Soo Hyun’s personal life or the allegations. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency further claimed, “In addition, the family has made many false claims against GOLDMEDALIST and Kim Soo Hyun. For example, they claimed that our company did not attend the deceased’s funeral. However, we visited the funeral hall on February 17 and February 19, 2025, to meet the family, offer our condolences, and leave a wreath and condolence money.
