Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Aaliya Siddiqui says ‘it’s over’ between her and Nawazuddin Siddiqui: ‘People around him hurt me more’
In a chat with indianexpress.com, Aaliya Siddiqui spoke about entering Bigg Boss OTT 2, her relationship with estranged husband Nawazuddin Siddiqui and her 'mystery man'.

“I am really excited and a bit nervous, but only because I would be away from my kids for a long time,” Aaliya Siddiqui shared, hours before entering the Bigg Boss OTT 2 house. The estranged wife of Nawazuddin Siddiqui wants to create her own identity through the Salman Khan-hosted show. The filmmaker said that her kids too were emotional but supported her decision, adding that Nawaz too wanted her to go out and start her own career.
“He was really supportive and pushed me to do the show. He has also decided to take the kids on a holiday for 45 days, till the time I am away. I am glad they will get to spend some quality time with their father, while I too would be in peace, knowing they are well taken care of,” she told indianexpress.com.
Talking about her decision to enter Bigg Boss, Aaliya said she has always wanted to be in front of the camera. She shared that she’s been part of a couple of projects down south and has also done item songs before she got married to Nawazuddin. While acting was an exciting job, she wanted to be a director and thus decided to start her own production house, where she could helm films of her choice.

“Life soon was taken over by my kids and after I was offered Bigg Boss. I thought why not? I am taking this as an adventure and a way to showcase my real personality. People will get to know Aaliya now, and not just the woman in Nawaz’s life. This show is also a way to understand yourself well. It will give me time to reflect upon myself and the patience I have,” she added.
While Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been part of Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan, Aaliya Siddiqui admits to not knowing the superstar ‘personally’. She shared that they have never had an interaction but she is looking forward to meeting him on Bigg Boss OTT 2. She added that she has watched a few episodes of Bigg Boss to understand the ‘mudda’ that works on the show.

When asked to elaborate on the same, the filmmaker said that she plans to be ‘real’ on the show. “I have seen a lot of people pretend and fall flat on their faces. I won’t make the same mistakes. I know there would be difficult situations and I might react but I will try my best to not create an issue for anyone inside or outside the house. It’s going to be a battle and I am ready to face it.” She added that she’s a great cook and loves managing her house, which would be an advantage for her on the show.
Not discussing her divorce case much, Aaliya shared how she was looked upon as a woman creating trouble for her husband. She said that her image was tarnished but that has given her the strength to fight her own battles. “My personal life became a gossip for everyone. I think this is why a show like Bigg Boss didn’t scare me as I have nothing to hide. I really don’t care if people say I am here for controversy or sympathy. I know my truth and that’s what matters to me. When I feel someone has crossed their line, I would definitely stop them there,” she shared.

Aaliya recently hinted at finding love again via a social media post. When asked about the same, she blushed to share, “He is a really great friend of mine. Someone more than a friend. But we aren’t planning on getting married or anything. I haven’t committed that to anyone. I want to live my life with my kids and start my own career. We all need mental support, a companion in life, and he’s the one for me.”
She also shared that given Nawaz’s job, they haven’t lived together a lot, and he might be in for a surprise to see her real side on the show. However, Aaliya is sure that the two won’t give their marriage a second chance as things have turned too bitter now. “It’s all over. We are both trying our best to keep the bond cordial and respectful between us for our kids. We want them to have a normal and happy future. To be honest, I have been hurt more by people around him than Nawaz himself. I can just hope that he watches the show to realise I am not wrong.”
On Sunday, YouTuber Puneet Kumar aka Puneet Superstar was evicted from the show in less than 24 hours. Palak Purswani now has been given the task to collect Rs 30000 BB currency from housemates to save herself from elimination. Apart from Aaliya, the others contestants on Bigg Boss OTT 2 are Pooja Bhatt, Avinash Sachdev, Manisha Rani, Fukra Insaan, Akanksha Puri, Jiya Shankar, Falaq Naaz, Cyrus Broacha, Jad Hadid and Bebika Dhurve.
