Juhi Chawla is India's richest actress.
Juhi Chawla Net Worth 2025: As per the Hurun Rich List 2025, Juhi Chawla is now India’s richest actress, boasting a net worth of Rs 7,790 crore. Not only the actress, but she’s also way ahead of male actors like Akshay Kumar (Rs 2,500 crore), Hrithik Roshan (Rs 2,160 crore), and Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 1,630 crore). She’s next to only her longtime co-star and business partner Shah Rukh Khan, who’s India’s richest actor with a net worth of Rs 12,490 crore).
Films not her primary revenue source
Contrary to a lot of other female actors on the list, the primary revenue source of Chawla isn’t the movies. An A-list star in the 1990s, she took a backseat from the films in the early 2000s post the birth of her son. She continued to act in films, but not as frequently. Her last release was Vatsal Neelakantan’s coming-of-age dramedy Friday Night Plan and Shiv Rawail’s period thriller show The Railway Men, both of which released on Netflix India in 2003. Her last theatrical release was six years ago — Shelly Chopra Dhar’s romantic comedy Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
Chawla also briefly turned producer in the early 2000s, in partnership with Shah Rukh and filmmaker Aziz Mirza. The trio, best known for rom-coms like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (2002) and Yes Boss (1997), started their production house Dreamz Unlimited. They released three films under that banner — Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (which starred both Shah Rukh and Juhi) in 2000, Asoka in 2001, and Chalte Chalte in 2003. However, all three films didn’t perform as per expectations at the box office, forcing Dreamz Unlimited to wrap up operations. However, Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri Khan started a new production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, in 2004, which continues to be a super successful venture even today.
Juhi’s more successful partnership with Shah Rukh
For Juhi, the more successful partnership with her Darr co-star Shah Rukh happened when they, along with her businessman-husband Jay Mehta, co-acquired Kolkata Knight Riders, a team in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League back in 2008 for around Rs 600 crore. While KKR endured a very tough phase in the initial seasons, it bounced back later. As per The Financial Express, the current valuation of KKR stands at Rs 9,000 crore, following its 2024 IPL win.
Other lucrative ventures
Juhi and her husband Jay have also invested in multiple prime properties across the globe and the city. They currently reside at a sea-facing luxury building at Malabar Hill, one of the poshest locales of Mumbai. They also have a hefty investment in the cement giant, Saurashtra Cement. She also owns a couple of restaurants in the city — Rue du Liban, a high-end Lebanese joint situated in Kala Ghoda and Gustoso, a luxury Italian café in Bandra.
