Chennai Super Kings broke the bank for 2 uncapped Indian players splurging Rs 14.20 crore each on UP allrounder Prashant Veer and Rajasthan batter Kartik Sharma, breaking the record for the highest bid for an uncapped player twice in the same auction on Tuesday.

The auction will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, with the first 70 cricketers set to be called out manually by the auctioneer on Tuesday. Over the course of the day, 238 uncapped players will be up for grabs while only 77 spots are available across the 10 franchise. Among them, 14 cricketers have also been short-listed as uncapped overseas cricketers.

In the 2026 IPL Auction, Prashant Veer made headlines when he became the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history, becoming the first player from the category to earn a bid of ₹14.20 crore, from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK would not stop with acquiring only Veer, however. They then bid a joint-highest 14.20 crore for Kartik Sharma and snapped him up. In the same auction, J&K’s Auqib Nabi also fetched Rs 8.40 crore from the Delhi Capitals
