SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR paid over Rs 20 lakh to attend Oscars: Report
As per reports doing rounds, SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR paid to attend the Oscars. It's been said they had to shell out more than Rs 20 lakh per person to attend the awards night where RRR song 'Naatu Naatu' won Best Original Song.

As videos of the RRR team jumping in excitement after the announcement went viral, fans were left emotional. Now, as per reports, it’s been said that director SS Rajamouli and lead stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR had to pay a hefty sum to be in the auditorium.
As per reports, only music composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose were eligible for free passes, along with one family member each. The two were named as nominees in the Best Original Song category. The rest of the team and their family had to buy tickets to watch the event live at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
A news report by The Economic Times stated that a single ticket to Oscar 2023 cost $25,000, which is around ₹20.6 Lakh. According to the Academy Awards crew, only the awardees and their family members were eligible for a free pass, while others had to pay to attend the event, the report added. It’s been said that Rajamouli shelled out this massive amount for the team to be at the Oscars to celebrate the special moment together.

While the news came as a surprise for many, a section of fans was upset to see the RRR team sitting in the last row of the hall. In the videos, that went viral on social media, as “Naatu Naatu” was announced the winner, the team jumped up to celebrate the big feat. While Ram and Tarak were seen seated four-five rows ahead, Rajamouli, his wife Rama, son SS Kartikeya and other family members were in the last row. MM Keeravani and Chandrabose were rightfully at the front along with other nominees. “Why were they sitting at the back,” asked a fan. “It’s a disgrace why RRR team is sitting at back,” commented another on a post by The Hollywood Reporter.
RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards. Composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose received the award on stage as the composer broke into his rendition of The Carpenters’ ‘On Top of the World’. Singers Kaala Bhairava, along with Rahul Sipligunj performed “Naatu Naatu” at the Oscars and received a standing ovation for their act.
