Bulli Raju aka Revanth mobbed by zealous fans. This year’s Sankranthi offered a mixed bag of results as Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, and Venkatesh’s Sankrantiki Vasthunnaam clashed at the box office. The surprise winner of this clash was the Anil Ravipudi film Sankrantiki Vasthunnaam, which hit the screens on January 14, and went on to become a very profitable venture for all stakeholders. While the movie, which is a quintessential family entertainer, continues to rake in big numbers, another surprise of the film was child actor Revanth, who played the role of Bulli Raju.
Revanth walked off with a lot of plaudits for his role as Bulli Raju, the mercurial young son of Venkatesh’s YD Raju. However, fame is a fickle beast, and unfortunately, the young Revanth saw the ugly nature of fame. Although the film is running to packed houses, and the audience members have been heralding the movie, there were a few who failed to get the memo about personal space and privacy. A video of Revanth being bombarded for selfie requests, and certain people physically pulling and pushing him despite him verbally expressing his discomfort, has gone viral.

The young actor was mobbed, and, despite his express verbal denial, forced to pose for photos. This behaviour by a few audience members, and their refusal to take ‘No’ for an answer, just because he is a child, opens up a different can of worms about understanding the need for personal space. Netizens have been sharing this viral video, calling for better behaviour from adults, who were gheraoing him.

Sankrantiki Vasthunnam, which marks the third collaboration between Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi after F2 and F3, has broken into the Rs 100 crore club. With music by Bheems Ceciroleo, the film also stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Upendra Limaye, and Sai Kumar in pivotal roles.
