Akhanda 2 teaser and release date: In a significant respite for the Telugu film industry, which has been struggling so far this year with no big blockbusters, the decks have been cleared for the worldwide release of director Boyapati Sreenu’s highly anticipated Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda 2. A day after announcing the new release date of the fantasy actioner, the movie’s makers have unveiled a fresh teaser, sending expectations through the roof.

Instead of delving into the story, the 64-second promo video presents the film as an out-and-out action spectacle, with an unhinged Balakrishna at its centre. As the teaser opens, we see a young woman being chased across a snowy mountain by ruthless thugs. But fret not, Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora (Balakrishna) is around to save the day.

As the promo video progresses, it showcases various shades of the movie, including visuals of the Kumbh Mela. Meanwhile, one person is heard exclaiming, “Look at that country adorned with saffron. Look at that god holding the trident. Who can stop the mountain of vibhuti?” Channelling Shiva, Aghora storms into the frame and single-handedly takes down the rivals to save the young girl mentioned before. Although the teaser mainly revolves around Balakrishna, it also offers a few glimpses of other characters, including the one played by Aadhi Pinisetty. A sequel to Boyapati Sreenu’s 2021 superhit, Akhanda 2 will hit the screens on December 12. Although the movie was scheduled to release on December 5, it was postponed later.

Akhanda 2 to have paid premiere shows on Dec 11

According to Gulte, the movie’s makers have also received permission from the authorities concerned to organise paid premiere shows on December 11, a day before the official release date. The report further mentioned that both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have allowed a temporary hike in ticket prices for Akhanda 2. Tickets for the December 11 paid premiere shows will cost Rs 600, including GST.

The Andhra Pradesh government has permitted an increase in ticket rates at single-screen theatres by Rs 75, making it Rs 222.5, and at multiplexes by Rs 100, making it Rs 277, for 10 days starting December 12. On the other hand, in Telangana, the price hike will be valid for only three days, during which tickets at single-screen theatres will cost Rs 227, Rs 50 more than normal, while at multiplexes, the price will be Rs 395, Rs 100 more than usual.
