Pushpa 2 worldwide box office collection day 28: Allu Arjun-starrer becomes the second-biggest Indian grosser of all time, beats Baahubali 2’s Rs 1788 cr record

Pushpa 2 worldwide box office collection day 28: The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2 has now crossed the Rs 1788 crore mark in its global collections. It is now the second highest grosser of Indian cinema after Dangal.

Pushpa 2 worldwide box office collection day 28: The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has been playing in theatres for almost a month, and now, the film has crossed the massive Rs 1788 crore worldwide benchmark set by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. On New Year’s day, Pushpa 2 collected Rs 13.15 crore at the domestic box office, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This took the film’s nett domestic box office collection to Rs 1184.65 crore.

On New Year’s day, the Hindi version made Rs 9.5 crore and the Telugu version made Rs 3.1 crore. Out of the Rs 1184.65 crore collected by the film in India, Rs 774.65 crore was made from the Hindi version and Rs 330.53 crore from the Telugu version, Rs 57.65 crore from the Tamil version, Rs 14.14 crore from the Malayalam version and Rs 7.6 crore from the Kannada version.

The makers of Pushpa 2 announced on Tuesday that the film had collected Rs 1760 crore worldwide till Day 26. At that time, the film was just Rs 28 crore away from taking over Baahubali 2’s spot. In the last two days, Pushpa 2 made Rs 20.85 crore in India, so the worldwide collection would have certainly crossed the Rs 28 crore number needed to overtake Baahubali 2.

So far, Aamir Khan’s Dangal is the biggest grosser in the history of Indian cinema. The film collected Rs 2070 crore after its release in India. Dangal’s domestic collection stood at Rs 387.38 crore but the film made a huge amount of money from the overseas market, particularly in China. This, however, wasn’t the case with Baahubali 2. SS Rajamouli’s film made Rs 1030.42 crore in India, and grossed Rs 1788 crore worldwide.

Pushpa 2 still has a clear run at the cinemas until Pongal. Shankar’s Game Changer is the big release in south on January 10. Game Changer stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani and the film is being promoted as a pan-Indian release and it is likely that the film will affect Pushpa 2’s collections.
