Prabhas says scenes of gory violence in Salaar have deep emotions behind them: ‘Even Baahubali was a violent film…’
In a new interview, Prabhas shared how he prepared for his role in Salaar, which is different from all the roles he has played so far.

Actor Prabhas is looking forward to the release of Prashanth Neel’s Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, which, in his opinion, will present him in a never-seen-before avatar. The film, also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, is the story of power politics in a fictional town called Khansaar. Prabhas essays the role of Deva, the best friend of Prithviraj’s character Vardharaja Mannaar. He single-handedly avenges his best friend when he is denied the throne of Khansaar, which is rightfully his.
In a new interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Prabhas shared how he prepared for his role, which is different from all the roles he has played so far. He said, “The audience has never seen me play such a character. I am excited for them to see me on-screen in a new light.”
The trailer of Salaar showed a lot of blood-soaked action sequences, leading to a conversation about the film being too violent. However, Prabhas defended the film and said that no scene in Salaar will look violent as the viewers will be able to get the emotion behind it. The actor said, “Even Baahubali was a violent film. In it, I alone killed 100 people. But even kids have watched that film and loved it. If the emotions are not portrayed well in a film, only then it will seem violent. Salaar is a film with a meaningful story. None of the scenes will appear violent as they have deep emotions behind them.”
During the interview, Prabhas also spoke highly of Salaar director Prashanth Neel with whom he had some ‘fun’ workshops before the film’s shoot. “Me and Prashanth would talk about the body language that suits my character. He considered my suggestions too. He is the best director. More than being on set, I wanted to spend time with Prashanth personally. We became close within a month, and there has been no looking back after that,” shared Prabhas.
Salaar is set to release on December 22 in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The movie, with a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes, received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Certification (CBFC).
