Nandamuri Balakrishna-Urvashi Rautela’s “Dabidi Dibidi” song from Daaku Maharaaj sparks controversy for ‘obscene’ steps
Some social media users have labeled the choreography of "Dabidi Dibidi," featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, as "obscene."

The song “Dabidi Dibidi” from the upcoming Telugu action-thriller Daaku Maharaaj, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, has been released. The mass dance number, which incorporates some of Balakrishna’s iconic dialogues, is sung by Vagdevi and has lyrics by Kasarla Shyam, set to music by S Thaman.
However, the song’s choreography, handled by Shekhar Master, has sparked controversy on social media, with many users expressing outrage and deeming it ‘obscene’. Several users have taken to various platforms to express their disgust, criticising the dance moves and the significant age gap between the lead actors. The backlash has generated significant buzz online, with the song becoming a topic of discussion among fans and critics alike.
Several users pointed out the significant age gap between the lead actors, with one user taking to X and writing, “What on earth did I just watch? 🤮🤮 A grown man dancing so inappropriately with someone who could be his daughter? Who even comes up with such ‘genius’ choreography, and why did the hero agree to this? Absolutely disgusting🙏🏻🙏🏻.”

Another user criticised the choreography, and responded to the earlier post by stating, “What do you mean grown man, he is of retirement age, old enough to be her grandpa😂.” The comments section of the song on YouTube is filled with viewers expressing their disgust over the song’s choreography.
Some users have also objected to the casting of North Indian actresses in Telugu films. A user also referenced a recent comment made by the film’s producer, Naga Vamsi, who stated that Bollywood filmmakers’ vision is limited to the audience of Bandra and Juhu, posh localities in Mumbai. The user sarcastically remarked, “Our Bandra Juhu directors don’t make this level of 💩, ” another person commented, “Another cringefest from this producer Vamsi 😂😂.”

Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli, is set to release on January 12, coinciding with the occasion of Makar Sankranti. The film will also feature Bobby Deol as the antagonist, marking his Telugu debut. Deol recently made his Tamil debut as the antagonist in Siva’s period fantasy Kanguva, where he locked horns with Suriya. The film also stars Dulquer Salmaan and Shraddha Srinath, among others.
