(Photo: Burger Bae/Instagram)Burger Bae’s Rohan Kashyap had a secret plan to propose to his girlfriend, Janvi Sikaria—who is also the company’s co-founder—on Shark Tank India Season 4. However, his plan didn’t materialize as the show’s makers were not in favor of it.
In a recent interview with The Times of India, Rohan revealed that he had been manifesting a spot on the show for the past two years. Their selection felt like a miracle, as they were among the last ones chosen.
Rohan Kashyap, who isn’t very comfortable in front of the camera, shared that the Shark Tank team helped him prepare. However, once they discovered his plan to propose to his girlfriend on the show, they were completely against it.
In the interview, Rohan shared that the Shark Tank India team somehow found out about his proposal plan and made him sign an agreement stating that he wouldn’t go through with it. The reason was that a proposal could shift the focus away from the show’s core purpose—entrepreneurship. To ensure he didn’t attempt it, the team even frisked him before he entered the tank and checked him again just before he reached the stage to make sure he wasn’t carrying a ring.
Burger Bae entered the tank seeking Rs 1 crore for 2.5% equity. They secured a deal with Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal and Kunal, who offered them Rs 2 crore for 20% equity.
