Siddharth: ‘I did Indian 2 so that I could work with Kamal Haasan and Shankar’
Siddharth, who is gearing up for the release of Takkar, recently opened up about Indian 2, which marks his first collaboration with Kamal Haasan.

Actor Siddharth is back in the Tamil cinema after a break of about three years. The actor was last seen in the 2019 film Aruvam. He will be next seen in the film Takkar, which will release on June 9. In a recent interview, the actor said that Takkar is different from the previous venture because the role is polar opposite to what he is in real life.
“He would do anything for money, and I don’t care a lot about money. His principles are different from mine. I wouldn’t do a few things even if you give me a lot of money. So, do the role was challenging,” Siddharth told India Today. Apart from Takkar, the actor also shared about his other much-awaited project, Indian 2, which has Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
The role of Siddharth in the film is still in the wraps. He said, “I’m excited to see myself in this film working again with director Shankar, who launched me in Indian cinema. The reason I did this film is not because of what happens after the release of the film, but the fact that I could work with such stalwarts. I can’t talk about the role but the film is a blessing and I am happy.”
Indian 2, which was been in the making for years, now is finally getting in shape. It is said that the film will be released on Pongal 2024. Other than Kamal Haasan and Siddharth, Indian 2 also has Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander, who composed the brilliant album for Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, will be working on Indian 2 too.
Besides Takkar and Indian 2, Siddharth also has Chithha, his home production, in the pipeline. Siddharth had earlier claimed the film will be a watershed moment in his career.
