In our last issue we had carried the news that Sunil Grover, aka Gutthi, would most likely join Comedy Nights With Kapil. Now, however, writer Raaj Shaandilya, who was working with Optymystix on its show, Comedy Circus, and who joined the popular Comedy Nights With Kapil (CNWK) two months ago as its lead writer and content director, confirmed that Grover would be back on the show, but not as Gutthi. He says, “Sunil had called us sometime back to appreciate the efforts we are putting in the show. He had also hinted at his willingness to come back. Since he is a good performer, we want him back, but we are contemplating a new role for him. Gutthi has been done already whereas a new role would add freshness.”
Shaandilya, who is being praised for his peppy punchlines, says that, “Kapil Sharma loved working with me during his stint on Comedy Circus. When CNWK started, I was always involved although unofficially . I would give my bit of inputs to the creative team of the show,” says Raaj, who is happy at the positive response he has received, especially from Navjot Singh Sidhu.
