The second schedule of Mary Kom took off in Mumbai last week. Based on the life of five-time World Boxing champion and Olympic bronze medalist, Mary Kom, the film is helmed by art director-turned film director Omung Kumar. Priyanka Chopra, who plays the famous boxer, has trained hard for her part. “Developing the upper arm muscles is especially tough for women,” she said. The shoot of the film, which is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will continue for a few weeks.

 

Jia Aur Jia wraps up

Except for a few days of patchwork left, the shooting of Jia Aur Jia is complete. The film, which talks about female bonding has Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chaddha in stellar roles. While Koechlin plays a Punjabi girl, Chaddha will be seen as a South Indian girl. The film is produced by Mudassar Aziz (who had directed Dulha Mil Gaya) and Sunil Bohra, and directed by actor-choreographer Howard Rosemeyer. Jia Aur Jia is slated to release in the latter part of 2014.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in Chandigarh

The shooting of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is presently going on in Chandigarh. Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt are stationed in a hotel near Patiala and travel everyday for their shoot. The Punjab schedule of the film will wrap up on March 18. Humpty… is being helmed by debutant Shashank Khaitan and is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
