Not without maa!

The warmest moment at the Screen award event was when the Bachchans were requested to come backstage for a photo shoot. Jaya Bachchan was engrossed in a conversation with an acquaintance and was taking her time and one spotted Abhishek, waiting patiently for her. Only when she bid goodbye to her friend, she turned around to find her son waiting to escort her. That’s Abhishek Bachchan for you!

Time to bond

Shatrughan Sinha was his usual jovial self as he walked the red carpet with his children, Luv and Sonakshi Sinha. While walking towards his seat, the veteran actor bumped into Sharat Saxena and Satish Shah, who had just stepped off the stage after collecting the Best Ensemble Cast award for their film Club 60. As both the actors were busy rejoicing their win, Sinha called out to them (in his trademark style), “Kahan jaa rahein hain aap dono?” Saxena and Shah’s joy knew no bounds as they greeted Sinha and spoke to him for several minutes. Sinha too, was very happy to meet friends from the industry and all three were seen chatting amicably. Finally, Sinha had to be pulled away by Sonakshi as they had to take their seats.

Entertained

Not keeping good health, yesteryear star Manoj Kumar had not been attending film functions since a long time. The actor, however made an exception for Screen Awards and attended the event with his wife Shukla and grandchildren Vansh and Muskaan. He was firm that he would like to just sit back and enjoy the show and was not keen to go on stage to present an award. When he left the event, he was quite pleased with the splendid show that was put up.

Tanuja was spotted with daughters, Tanishaa Mukherjee and Kajol, who had specially come to present her the award. The most memorable moment came when Tanishaa was posing on the red carpet before heading back home. When Tanuja saw her being photographed by the shutterbugs, she whistled loudly and cheered for her, stopping everyone in their tracks! The veteran actress looked impressed with Tanisha’s confidence and even hugged her.

Love in the air

Vivek Oberoi who came in with wife Priyanka was more than elated to be nominated. Basking in all the attention, the actor, at the same time did not forget his duties as a husband and was extremely attentive to his wife, hardly leaving her side. And when he did, he asked his publicist to wait with her till he was back. Oberoi also went all twinkle eyed when asked about his toddler Vivaan Veer. Now that’s what we call a true family man!

Hitting the bulls-eye

The curiosity of Abhay Deol’s black eye was clear, after he made the announcement on stage that he was sporting a black eye in protest against the practise of music companies signing certain contracts that may damage remuneration of singers and music composers. In fact, the first thing every person who entered the presenters room where he was sitting with girlfriend Preeti Desai did was to enquire about his black eye. At first, Abhay  joked about being punched by someone. But later, with a dimpled smile, he explained the real reason.
