Singer Sonu Kakkar took to social media on Saturday to announce that she had severed ties with her siblings, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar. In the now-deleted X post, Sonu said the decision “comes from a place of deep emotional pain.”

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sonu had written, “Deeply devastated to inform you all that I am no longer a SISTER to the two talented Superstars, Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar. This decision of mine comes from a place of deep emotional pain, and I am truly disheartened today.”

While many netizens dismissed the announcement as a publicity stunt, others speculated whether the fallout was genuine. Rumours of a rift between the siblings began circulating after Sonu was noticeably absent from her brother Tony Kakkar’s birthday celebration on April 9.

While Tony and Neha Kakkar are yet to respond to Sonu Kakkar’s statement, the singer’s decision to delete the post later invited some backlash.
