Kim Soo Hyun’s lawyer accuses Kim Sae Ron’s family of ‘manipulation, false narratives’, Gold Medallist CEO resigns

Kim Soo-hyun's lawyer claimed that her Kim Sae-ron's mother was trying to create 'false narratives' after her daughter's death earlier this year.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were allegedly in a relationship when she was a minor.

After Kim Sae-ron’s mother released alleged evidence that her daughter was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun when she was a minor, his lawyer has responded to the claims. Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative Ko Sang-rok claimed that these materials were already with the investigative agency and claimed that they were “unrelated” to Kim Soo Hyun “or were written solely by the deceased.” Kim Sae-ron’s mother also raised objection to Ko’s language where he used phrases like “bipolar madman,” “emotionally unstable South American bird,” and “underage South American bird” while talking about her deceased daughter. He has now responded to the same and said that these expressions were not directed at Kim Sae-ron, and that he did not post them on his “official communication channel.”

He said, as reported by Gulf News, “The terminology was inappropriate for a lawyer to use. This is not a typical civil dispute but a battle against cybercrimes involving fraud targeting the public.” He said that Sae-ron’s family found these on another thread where he was communicating and “distributed” them. “I did not post these expressions on my YouTube bulletin board, which is my official communication channel. The bereaved family found the thread where I was communicating, extracted those words, and distributed them as a second statement, resulting in those expressions appearing in numerous news headlines,” he said.

Ko claimed that “false narratives” were being created and evidence was being “manipulated.” “By exploiting the psychology of people who think, ‘Surely no one would do such a thing,’ they create false narratives to be believed as truth, manipulate evidence, distort stories, and drive innocent victims to death. I am continuing the toughest fight to protect my client from such crimes,” Ko added.

The statement further read, “The question is no longer whether Kim Sae-ron had an emotionally unstable adolescence dependent on men. The only remaining issue is who is responsible for making the public perceive it that way. I have no intention of yielding the initiative in this debate. It is necessary to protect my dignity, character, and fully rescue my client from criminal harm.” He concluded with a message to the family, “Think before you act.”

Kim Soo Hyun’s Gold Medalist CEO resigns

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist CEO stepped down two months ago, as per reports. Ahn Sung Soo, who had joined the agency earlier this year, has reportedly left the company, as per Ten Asia. He was seen accompanying Kim Soo Hyun to his March 31 press conference where the actor broke down in tears. He left within 9 months from the company.

Previously, Ko’s team filed a lawsuit against Sae-ron’s family for 12 billion KRW for reputational damage. Kim Sae-ron died by alleged suicide earlier this year.
