Tommy Hilfiger re-designing hotel

Tommy Hilfiger is reportedly re-designing The Raleigh Hotel on Miami Beach into a luxury hotel and private members club.

Noted fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger is re-designing a hotel.

The 63-year-old fashion designer is turning his talents to interior design by re-designing The Raleigh on Miami Beach into a luxury hotel and private members club, reported the New York Times.

“I am going to bring back the grandeur, the elegant feeling of relaxed luxury, that The Raleigh had when it first opened,” he said.

The building, which he bought for an estimated USD 56.6 million in April, was originally constructed in 1940 by Art Deco-inspired architect L Murray Dixon.

“I want to preserve the treasures of the hotel while turning it into a timeless and exclusive escape,” he added.
