Delhi-based organisation Filmbooth, which encourages budding short filmmakers to showcase their work, has introduced a new project titled First Cut. During this once-in-a-month event at Gulmohar Hall in India Habitat Centre, which starts today,a number of short films made by amateurs and experts will be screened for about two hours. “Most of these films have either never been screened before or have had one or two screenings in other cities or are such good short films that they deserve screenings,” says 26-year-old Sumit Nanda,co-founder of Filmbooth. On the roster today are National award-winning Shyam Raat Seher, directed by Arunima Sharma; Parimal Aloke’s Saari Raat, which is being screened for the first time in Delhi; and Bejoy Nambiar’s Reflections starring Mohan Lal,which has been showcased only once before. The screenings begin at 6.45 pm and entry is free.
