‘Shootout At Wadala’ release pushed to 2013

Ramesh Sippy says it would make no sense to release the film a week after Aamir Khan starrer 'Talaash'.

Balaji has decided to postpone the release of ‘Shootout At Wadala’ from December 7,2012 to January 18,2013. Speaking about this development,Tanuj Garg,CEO-Balaji Motion Pictures,said,”We are considering a January 18 release and will make a formal announcement soon.”

News has it that the said decision was taken during a closed-door meeting between Ekta,John Abraham,Sanjay Gupta,Ramesh Sippy and Tanuj Garg. Ramesh Sippy (Ekta’s maternal uncle and also one of Balaji’s Board of Directors) was instrumental in delaying the film’s release. Reportedly,it was he who insisted that it would make no sense to release a big film like ‘Shootout At Wadala’ a week after the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Talaash’.
