Winfrey arrived in Mumbai for her five-day India tour on early Monday morning. After paying a visit to the Bachchans at their Juhu residence,she was escorted by the family to the party,hosted at the Godrejs’ beachside bungalow in Juhu. Dressed in an orange sari by Tarun Tahiliani,the 57-year-old arrived at the party around 8 pm to be received by Mumbai’s swish set — a mix of Bollywood,society and industrialists. “Oprah later joked about it and said that she was not aware that draping a sari can be this tough,” laughs jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali.

AR Rahman with wife Saira; director-producer Karan Johar; businessman Raja Dhody; writer Shobhaa De; actor Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri,Hrithik Roshan and wife Suzanne,Preity Zinta,Priyanka Chopra,Avantika and Imran Khan,Abhay Deol,director Ashutosh Gowariker and wife Sunita. Winfrey’s host and guide in India,Deepak Chopra,too dropped in to chill with the Mumbai A-listers.

Performances by Shiamak Dawar and artistes from Rahman’s KM Conservatory were part of the itinerary. Acknowledging the lovely reception,Winfrey tweeted,“Was so great meeting you and all the beautiful Bollywooders. Directors,poets,screenwriters,what a nite!”

The famous talk show host,who is in India to shoot for her show Next Chapter,is expected to travel to Agra apart from Jaipur,where she will attend the Jaipur Literature Festival.
