Munni trumps Sheila at Uninor music awards

Dabangg also took home awards for best male vocalist (Rahat Fateh Ali for 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain').

Actor Salman Khan-starrer ‘Dabangg’ continued its winning spree at Uninor Music Awards,with the chart-buster ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ winning the ‘best song of the year’ and ‘best item song’ awards.

Dabangg also took home awards for best male vocalist (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’),best female vocalist and best up-coming singer of the year (Mamta Sharma for ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’),best music director (Sajid-Wajid),best background score (Sandeep Shirodkar).

‘Sajdaa’,from Karan Johar’s ‘My Name is Khan’,won the award for Best song in Sufi Tradition,while the best programmer and arranger award went to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for the song ‘Noor E Khuda’.

Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Ishqiya’ bagged the best lyricist award (Gulzar,for ‘Dil To Baccha Hai Ji’) and best sound recording award for the same song (Salman Afridi and Farhad Dadyburjor).

‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from the film ‘Tees Maar Khan’,where Katrina Kaif sizzled the dance floor,won in the ‘best song- listeners’ choice’ category.

The awards show,anchored by singers Shaan and Sonu Nigam,was a great mix of musical and humorous entertainment.

It also saw the vivacious trio of Usha Uthup,Bappi Lahiri and DJ Lloyd electrifying the stage with retro remix numbers such as ‘I am a Disco Dancer’,’Ramba Ho’,’Yaad aa raha hai’ and others.
