Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are all set to get married on June 23, and on Thursday evening, Sonakshi’s father, veteran actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, was seen with the soon-to-be newlyweds in Mumbai. This comes on the heels of rumours about a rift within the Sinha family, with some reports suggesting that Shatrughan might not attend the wedding.

Shatrughan and his wife, Poonam Sinha, were seen with Zaheer and his family as they made their way out of a residential building. Sonakshi Sinha was also photographed, albeit separately. As Shatrughan posed with Zaheer with a smile on his face, the paparazzi surrounding them requested the veteran star to say his famous catchphrase, ‘Khamosh’, and he happily obliged.

Sonakshi was clicked as she entered the venue, but while exiting, she covered her face with a mask. As her car made its way out the gate, her window was covered with a towel, hiding her face.

On Thursday, Shatrughan Sinha told Zoom that he would be attending the wedding, denying the reports that suggested otherwise. “I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I? Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa. She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding,” he told Zoom and added that Sonakshi and Zaheer “look very nice together.”

Rumours of a rift started when, almost a week ago, the veteran star told Times Now that he was “waiting to be informed” about his daughter’s wedding. He said, “All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (Nowadays, children don’t seek permission; they simply inform their parents).”
