When Mike Tyson forgot that he was a part of Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger: ‘I don’t know, tell me about it’
Mike Tyson took a big loss in his fight with Jake Paul, but was it a bigger embarrassment than the time he appeared in (and forgot about) Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger?
When Mike Tyson forgot he was a part of LigerWith Jake Paul beating the GOAT Mike Tyson in their big fight on Friday evening in the United States, the former heavyweight champion of the world would want to forget the loss as soon as possible. Not too long ago, he appeared to have erased another embarrassing memory from his mind – appearing in the much-reviled Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda-starrer Liger. In a podcast, Mike seemed to have no clue about his role in the film.
A clip from the podcast, Hotboxin with Mike Tyson, was widely circulated online. It showed the boxer casually lighting up, and being asked about his part in the film. “I heard you are getting into comedy movies again?” his friend asked. A puzzled Tyson replied, “I don’t know. Tell me about it, read it back to me.”

Later in the video, they all Google the movie Liger together. “What is a Liger?” someone asked, as the legend explained the biological origin of the animal, which is a cross between a liger and a tiger. Tyson then recalled shooting with the actual animal Liger. He shared that the animal weighs more than 900 pounds, after which the conversation returned to the film. They also watched a fake fan-made trailer of the film.
His old interview garnered a lot ofattention online, with people saying, ‘Good that he forgot the film, there was nothing to remember’. Tyson played a villainous character in the film, which tanked despite huge hype. Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger opened to bad reviews from critics, and was a huge box office failure.
