Shah Rukh Khan and his wife, film producer Gauri Khan are basking in the super success of their latest, Jawan. The OG couple has always been couple goals for many in the industry. However, there was a time when Gauri was not sure that her superstar husband would ever survive in the film industry. An old video of Gauri Khan talking about how she thought Shah Rukh Khan “would probably flop” and “just be thrown out” of the industry has surfaced on the internet and is now going viral.

A video clip from Rendezvous with Simi Garewal has appeared on Reddit where Gauri is heard saying, “I don’t know. It happened so quick, I didn’t even think that he’s going to be in the films like be a part of the industry. I though he will just do one or two films. I guess, I thought it is like doing a serial or something. I thought he would probably flop. Really, I thought it was a rubbish, he will just do one or two films and he will just be thrown out and then that’s it.”

Before Shah Rukh and Gauri got married in 1991, the star was yet to emerge as a Bollywood phenomenon. He had started his acting career in 1988 when he played the role of a soldier in Doordarshan’s Fauji and that led to him getting more offers on television. He then debuted in films by doing a supporting role in Deewana in 1992. However, his career took off after he appeared in Baazigar and Darr in 1993.

The star couple has been married for over 31 years now and are parents to three children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam Khan.
