Shark Tank India: Aman Gupta gives pitcher the exact deal she wants after being reminded of Simran from DDLJ

Shark Tank India: Aman Gupta was quite impressed with a founder who pitched natural cleaning products on the show and gave her the exact deal she wanted.

A solo founder on a recent episode of Shark Tank India got the exact deal she wanted, which is quite rare on the show. Simran, who runs a company selling cleaning products that use coconuts as a core ingredient, impressed all the sharks in a recent episode, walked away with a lucrative deal and a smile on her face.

The founder asked for Rs 70 lakh for 1% of the company, which got a loud gasp from Anupam Mittal. Simran said that she got the idea for her business after she realised that there was a huge gap in the market for natural cleaning products during the pandemic. After weighing the financials of her business, Anupam was the first to offer her a deal of Rs 70 lakh for 1.23 %, which he later revised to 1.6% of her company.

But Simran wasn’t too impressed with the offer, so she continued the pitch. As Aman Gupta jumped in, he started his negotiation by saying, “Simran ji, ek toh DDLJ ke baad Simran ji bolne ka bada mann kar raha tha. (Simran ji, after DDLJ, I felt like saying Simran ji.) She too, seemed interested in making a deal with Aman as she responded, “Aman main aapko chadha nahi rahi hun par jaise aap digitally native brand building jaante hain na, mujhe nahi lagta aise koi… (Aman, I am not praising you but the way you know how to build a native brand digitally, I don’t think.)” This won him over as he said, “Yahi sunne ki main wait kar raha tha (I was waiting to hear this).”

Simran, being a solo founder, said that she wants a partner who can get on a call with her every few months and also mentor her. Aman, along with Vineeta Singh, gave her the deal she came looking for. Shark Tank India is in its third season currently. Along with the original ‘sharks’, this season, Deepinder Goyal, and Ritesh Shah have joined the show.
