Shalini Passi on her learnings from Shah Rukh Khan, and Gauri Khan’s response to her reality show debut: ‘She was proud…’

In the first two seasons of Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, we witnessed the fabulous lives of actor Neelam Kothari (w/o Sameer Soni), Maheep Kapoor (w/o Sanjay Kapoor), Bhavana Panday (w/o Chunky Panday), and Seema Sajdeh (ex w/o Sohail Khan). In the third season, there were three new entrants — Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the sister of Ranbir Kapoor, Kalyani Saha Chawla, and Shalini Passi (w/o businessman Sanjay Passi). While we were ready to be entertained by the OG group, and Riddhima too, considering she comes from the first family of Bollywood, Shalini came out of nowhere and became the favourite of many. People enjoyed the flavour Shalini brought to the show, and she became the toast of the reality show currently streaming on Netflix. 

In a recent Filmfare interview, Shalini spoke about many things including, her relationship with the power couple Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Incidentally, Shah Rukh and Sanjay Passi were batchmates at Hansraj College, Delhi. Talking about how SRK continues to inspire people, she called him a kind-hearted and good human being. “You wouldn’t find anyone who has inspired audiences who have just started watching movies to someone who is 80. He’s a phenomenon.”

Interestingly, Shalini Passi said the biggest learning she’s had from Shah Rukh Khan is his habit of reading. “I never read and he ends up reading so many books in one go,” said the art and design collector, who feels SRK’s parenting style, and his hospitality are other takeaways. Shalini also revealed that Gauri and Shah Rukh attended her wedding with Sanjay Passi.

Shalini also shared that Gauri, who has appeared in all three seasons of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, loved her presence in the reality show, and praised her for the same. “After watching the first few episodes, she called me and said that she loved it and that she was proud of me,” said Shalini, adding that her friends were worried if her straightforwardness, and reluctance for confrontation and gossip would hold her in good stead.
