Rajveer Deol on his ‘blunt’ family’s reaction to Dono’s performance: ‘They are happy, said I’m destined to be in the industry’
Rajveer Deol said his family was happy with his performance in Dono and asked to "keep at it" in the industry. The film was a washout at the box office.

Actor Rajveer Deol says the Deol family is a happy unit ever since his debut film Dono released and their love and support has only been reassuring for him.
Rajveer, son of actor Sunny Deol and Pooja Deol made his screen debut two weeks ago with Dono, which co-starred Paloma Dhillon, daughter of Poonam Dhillon and producer Ashok Thakeria.
While the film was a box office washout, Rajveer said his family was happy with his performance and asked to “keep at it” in the industry. In an interview with Zoom, when asked about reactions of his family to Dono, the actor said their support feels to him like a safety net.
“They were really happy with my work, they were genuinely happy. It is not them to pamper me because I know how blunt they can get. They said just keep at it, you have your highs and lows, so keep improving and that I am destined to stay in this industry.
“It is assuring because it is a scary world, there is a lot of competition, and it is such a hard industry where you don’t know wht turn you are going to take and what’s the outcome going to be like. When you have support like that it does give you a safety feel.”

Earlier, Rajveer’s brother Karan Deol had also made his debut with the 2019 romantic drama Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The film was directed by Sunny Deol, who had previously helmed movies like Dillagi and Ghayal Once Again.
When asked what was the reaction of Karan to his debut, Rajveer said, “He saw the film two months before it released and was happy. He knows the effort I put in. I have done workshops with him growing up so he has always rooted for me, supported me. Even though he may not be vocal about it, I know he is happy and proud.”
Dono also marked the directorial debut of filmmaker and producer Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avnish Barjatya. He has previously worked as an assistant director on his father’s films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Uunchai.
